available loving homes

Wright-Way Rescue has partnered with Petco to help ensure more adoptable cats and kittens find loving adoptive homes. After all, WWR certified pre-owned cats are better than new!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I adopt a cat or kitten today?
A. Adoption applications can normally be processed within 24 hours. We make every effort to send you home with your new pet as soon as possible. Very often, but not always, this can happen the same day you apply. Please be certain to bring your landlord's telephone number and/or a copy of your lease if you rent since not having this information could delay the adoption process.
If you would like to expedite the application process you may apply online. Once approved you may bring your approval letter with you to any participating Petco store to choose your new companion. If you are pre-approved you may bring them home immediately with you.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept for the adoption fee?
A. Cash or credit

Q. How do you provide mental and physical exercise for the cats housed in the cat suites at Petco stores?
A. Wright-Way Rescue employees and volunteers frequently visit each store to check on the welfare of each adoptable cat and kitten. During this time each is given tons of individual attention, exercise, and a medical examination. Petco employees also assist us by checking each pet on an hourly basis. They help refill food water and clean up after any messes. We take the welfare of our adoptable pets very seriously and every effort possible is made to ensure their well being.

Q. Who approves/denies the adoption applications?
A. Wright-Way Rescue approves or denies each application received. Petco employees only help facilitate the adoption process but do not make a determination of the animals' placement.

Q. What are the adoptable cats at Petco fed?
A. Wellness brand cat or kitten formula which is generously donated by the Petco Foundation. This food is available to purchase at Petco. We do recommend you continue to feed this food if you adopt a cat housed at Petco. Please see a store associate for assistance in locating this high quality food for your adopted cat!

Q. How often do new cats arrive?
A. There is not a set schedule to new arrivals. When an animal is adopted to try to fill it's spot with a new cat in need of a family as soon as possible. Check back often as new arrivals show up frequently!

Q. What medical care is provided?
A. All adoptable cats and kittens at Petco stores come up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. They are all tested (negative) for feline aids and leukemia. Each pet is mircochipped, which includes free registration. Prior to being offered for adoption each pet is checked by a licensed veterinarian, dewormed, and screened for parasites. Additionally to prevent further pet overpopulation, your adopted cat or kitten will come to you already spayed or neutered. Free pet insurance is provided post adoption.
